Highlights from the November Council Meeting

Council meets four times a year to oversee the College of Early Childhood Educators’ activities in regulating the profession in the public interest.

Council met on November 2, 2022. Prior to the meeting, Council members participated in a learning and development session on the evolving role of professional regulatory bodies.

During the Council meeting, Council reviewed the College’s activities for the period ending June 30, 2022. This concluded the College’s fiscal year and wrapped up the Strategic Plan for 2018 -2022. Council noted highlights of the achievements during the last four years including modernization and increased efficiencies, enhanced public protection, new resources for members and strengthened relationships with stakeholders. Council approved the College’s audited financial statements for the year ending June 30, 2022.

Council Members on the move

The College thanks publicly-appointed Council member Adesua Ezeokafor whose term expires on December 2, 2022. Adesua joined Council as a public appointee in 2020 and currently serves as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee.

On November 9, Jessica Christian RECE was declared elected to fill the vacancy on Council for District 5 following the procedure set out in the bylaws. Jessica previously served as a non-Council committee member and Vice-Chair of the Standards of Practice Committee.
