Getting resourceful: helping you return to practice

Qualified, capable and ready - a special series for RECEs offering resources and insights to make the transition back into the workplace.

You play a vital role in the lives of children and families. Early learning and care settings are often children’s first communities beyond the circle of their families. Your expertise and insights allow you to support the development and well-being of children in your care. We know you may still feel some uncertainty about returning to work safely and being able to provide early learning and care under new circumstances. But change is a constant in this profession, so remember that you’re knowledgeable, capable and competent. You can adapt your practice. The College’s Practice Guideline on Professionalism says that “[one] of the hallmarks of being a professional is the ability to navigate the ‘messiness’ of everyday, unpredictable situations in a range of working environments and in a variety of relationships,” (page 3).
