RECEs: Did you know that the College has a Professional Practice department to support you in your practice?

College staff work in a variety of departments which handle different aspects of our work. For example, all members will have interacted with our Registration department, where staff manage applications and registrations, as well as annual membership renewals. We have a Professional Regulation department, which handles complaints and discipline matters. The College also has a Professional Practice department, which is responsible for the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and our Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program. But did you know that College staff on the Professional Practice team are available to support you with your practice and ongoing professional learning?

The Professional Practice Analysts, who are also RECEs, are available if you need assistance with:

  • Your practice questions and concerns;
  • Guidance with ethical decision-making; and

The Professional Learning Program Advisors help members understand the requirements of the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Program. They can assist with:

  • Your questions about the annual CPL Portfolio Cycle;.
  • How to complete your CPL Portfolio based on your role, practice setting or employment status;.
  • Developing your goal, providing examples of professional learning activities and types of documentation for your portfolio;.
  • Accessing or navigating the learning platforms for the Expectations for Practice Module and Sexual Abuse Prevention Program from My College Account; and.
  • Requesting a deferral of your CPL requirement(s) if you are facing extenuating circumstances.

The Professional Practice team also offers CPL portfolio webinars and hands-on workshops. On the College’s YouTube page, you can find a comprehensive playlist of recorded webinars available to support members with their CPL requirements.
