Members in the North/Northeast, East, and Central West Regions (Districts 1, 2 & 6) recently elected RECEs to serve on Council for a three-year term beginning in June 2023. As members of the 24-person Council governing the College, they will oversee policy development and make decisions related to entry to practice requirements, ethical and professional standards, professional misconduct, incompetence, and incapacity.
Three out of the five Council members are returning having been re-elected.

Lindsey Dann – District 1
Lindsey is the Childcare Supervisor at Little Lions Waldorf Child and Family Center and has been elected for a new three-year term. “As a childcare supervisor and faculty member of Confederation College, I have a passion for early childhood education and sharing my knowledge in policy, legislation and advocacy. Being a Council member has given me confidence to continue to be a leader within my own organization and community.”
Laura Urso – District 1
Laura is the Coordinator of Quality and Early Years Programs at the City of Greater Sudbury, Children Services Section where she focuses on system management, quality assurance, special needs resourcing and professional learning and community development. Laura has been re-elected for a new three-year term. “I have lived and worked in three northern communities. This familiarity gives me a northern perspective that enables me to make a unique and valuable contribution to Council.”
Krista Johnson -District 2
Krista is the Director of Operations at Global Child Care Services and is also completing her Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Early Childhood Studies. “I have a strong belief in the importance of professional development and lifelong learning, and I know that our sector is made stronger by RECEs who continuously add to their skillset and remain current. I believe in the power of mentoring employees, colleagues and students, and the important impact of advocating for and supporting children and families.”
Jasmine Brar – District 6
Jasmine Brar strongly believes in the importance of early learning and is committed to strengthening and supporting the profession. She graduated from Humber College in May 2019 with an Early Childhood Educator Diploma with Honours. She’s currently a Program Director at the PLASP Child Care Services. As a recent graduate, Jasmine is excited to bring a fresh perspective to the work of the Council.
Kristine Parsons – District 6
Kristine is the Director of Operations RisingOaks Early Learning. She is the Chair of Council and has been re-elected as a Council member for a new three-year term. “As a senior member of Council, my experience and organizational history will serve the Council well in this next term. I take my role in serving and protecting the public interest very seriously. Being a member of a professional regulatory body is a privilege and should be treated as such.”
