Members in Districts 1, 2 and 6 have elected five RECEs to Council for a three-year term. As members of the 24-person Council governing the College, they will oversee policy development and make decisions related to entry to practice requirements, ethical and professional standards, professional misconduct, incompetence and incapacity.

Note that four out of the five Council members are returning having been re-elected.
Lindsey Dann – District 1
Lindsey is the Childcare Supervisor at Little Lions Waldorf Child and Family Center. “My role as Childcare Supervisor and Faculty Advisor for ECE students has given me knowledge and perspective related to Entry to Practice, professionalism and ethics. I look forward to being a member of Council.”
Laura Urso – District 1
Laura is the Coordinator of Quality and Early Years Programs at the City of Greater Sudbury, Children Services Section where she focuses on community planning, quality assurance, special needs resourcing and professional learning. Laura has been re-elected for a new three-year term. “It’s a privilege to continue the work of the College, putting to use the skills and knowledge of self-regulation I have gained over the last term as a Council member. It’s a career highlight to continue to serve on Council.”
Julie Cyr – District 2
Julie is the Early Childhood Services Manager at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. Julie has been re-elected for a new three-year term. “Backed by my 30-plus years of varied professional experience, I have learned to work in many different settings. I am deeply passionate about the profession and have a wealth of experience to offer as a Council member.”
Cyndy Jefferson – District 6
Cyndy is the General Manager, Child Care at the YMCAs of Cambridge & Kitchener-Waterloo and is focused on licensed child care. Cyndy has been re-elected for a new three-year term. “Previous Council experience has enhanced my working knowledge of the College and the important role we play. I’m well-positioned to continue to support the profession and build public confidence in this term on Council.”
Kristine Parsons – District 6
Kristine is the Director of Operations at Owl Child Care Services of Ontario which provides centre-based child care. Kristine has been re-elected for a new three-year term. “I take my role in serving and protecting the public interest very seriously. Being a Council member is a privilege and allows me to continue to share my passion for self-regulation, professionalism and leadership”.
The College is divided into eight electoral districts, or geographic regions, across the province. Elections are held every year in different districts, and each district elects a specific number of members to Council. More information about Council elections is available on the College’s website.
