June 2018 Council Meeting Highlights

The 24-person Council governing the College of Early Childhood Educators meets four times a year to oversee the activities of the College in regulating the profession in the public interest.

In June, Council held its last meeting for the fiscal year and below are the highlights.

Welcome New Council Members

Council welcomed the following newly-elected Council members of Districts 3, 4 and 8.

  • Gillian Jackson RECE – District 3
  • Kim White RECE – District 4
  • Karen Kennedy RECE – District 8
  • Teresa Sulowski RECE – District 8

Stacey Lepine RECE, was re-elected in District 4.

Three-Year Strategic Plan

Council reviewed planned activities under year one of the 2018-2021 Strategic Plan.

Membership Fee Change

Council approved the College’s budget for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019, which includes the approval of a $10 membership fee increase. The increase is effective for members with renewal dates on or after September 1, 2018. The fee increase, the first increase since the College began 10 years ago, is necessary to address the increasing cost to regulate the profession and protect the public.

New Executive Committee 2018-2019

Council elected the 2018-2019 Executive Committee.

This year’s Executive Committee Members are:
