Update on Strategic Plan Activities

Reconciliation Action Planning

The College is committed to advancing reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples and creating a more inclusive and culturally safe profession. First Peoples Group (FPG), a national Indigenous-owned consulting firm, has been engaged to help the College develop its first Reconciliation Action Plan, which is scheduled to be launched in June 2026 during National Indigenous Peoples Month.

Policy Updates

Council approved updates to the Policy Regarding the Consideration of Alternative Documents. This policy explains how applicants can meet the document requirements for registration if they cannot get the issuing institution or authority to send the documents directly to the College.

The changes reflect new requirements from the Office of the Fairness Commissioner and confirm that the College will

  • Acknowledge the applicant’s alternative documents and say if other documents or information are required within 10 days of receipt
  • Track these requests to decide if the policy needs to be updated again
